Amelie Petrich hat sich entschlossen,
ihre solistische Karriere zu beenden,
und ab 2022/23 in den Opernchor
der Oper Leipzig zu wechseln;
und so ist die Dernière 
von Mozarts <Cosi fan tutte>
mit Amelie als entzückende Despina
auch die letzten Vorstellung,
die sie als Solistin singt.

decided to end her soloist career
and to join the opera-choir
of Oper Leipzig 
from the 2022/23 season on.
Therefore, the furniere of Mozart's
<Cosi fan tutte> ,
singing and playing an adorable Despina,
was the last performance as a soloist.




Young soprano AMELIE PETRICH, since 2018/19 member of the Theater Nordhausen, has quickly become the audience's and press' darling, enchanting them with her "crystal clear voice", her "great technique", her "excellent diction", her "joy for acting", her "stunning and effortless seeming coloratura"  and her "irresistible charm".


In her first 2 seasons, Amelie Petrich has appeared very successfully as ANNA REICH in Nicolai's "Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor"; GRETEL in Humperdinck's "Hänsel & Gretel"; ADELE in J. Strauß' "Die Fledermaus"PAMINA in Mozart’s "Die Zauberflöte", and FRÄULEIN KOST in Kander’s musical Cabaret”. In addition, she sang GALA-concerts-series with works by French and Slavian composers; and was highly praised for her enchanting BLONDE in Mozart's "Die Entführung aus dem Serail" at the Schloßfestspiele Sondershausen.


Due to the Covid-pandemic, her debut as as VALENSIENNE in Lehár's "Die Lustige Witwe" had to be cancelled completely, and her debuts as ADINA in Donizetti's  "L'Elisir d'Amore", ABEL'S VOCALISE in Ehrenfellners World-Premiere "Kain & Abel", JULIA DE WEERT in Künnekes operetta "Vetter aus Dingsda" at Theater Nordhausen, as well as DESPINA in Mozarts "Cosi fan tutte" at Schloß Sonderhausen had to be postponed to the 2021/22 season.

But Amelie Petrich appeared in the Covid-time as BASTIENNE in Mozarts early opera "Bastien & Bastienne" at the Schloßfestspielen Sondershausen, with Opera-und Operetta-Galas at Schloß Heringen, with several SOPRANO-parts in Purcells "The Fairy Queen" and as TATYANA in Chaikovsyk's "Jewgeni Onegin"  in a reduced version with piano.

 

Before joining the Theater Nordhausen, Amelie Petrich was a member of the   Operastudio at Theater Freiburg, singing GIANETTA in Donizetti's "L'Elisir d'Amore"; STELLA / 1. FANCIULLA in Wolf-Ferrari's "I Gioielli della Madonna"; GLASHA in Janacek’s “Katja Kabanova”MISS SPINK / OTHER MISS SPINK / 1. GHOST CHILD (premiere-cast) in Mark-Anthony Turnage’s German-Premier of “Coraline” and VOCALTRIO SOPRAN in Peter Eötvös' "Angels in America"a part, she also performed on a short call at Theater Münster. 

 

German born Amelie Petrich was a member of the children's choir of Theater Hagen appearing also already in small solo-parts.

She studied with Prof. Snežana Stamenkovič at the Hochschule für Musik Mannheim and completed her musical education in Masterclasses with Rudolf Piernay, Dorothea Wirtz, Klesie Kelly, Simone Kermes, Burkhard Kehring, Christiane Libor, Ulrich Eisenlohr, Axel Bauni and Peter Nelson.


During her studies, she appeared in productions of the conservatory as SAND-and TAUMÄNNCHEN in Humperdinck's "Hänsel und Gretel" and as DESPINA at the Theater im Pfalzbau Ludwigshafen; with  PAPAGENA in Mozart's "Zauberflöte" she returned to the  Theater Hagen, and sang I. KRETERIN in Mozart's "Idomeneo" under the baton of Dan Ettinger at the Mozartsommer 2016 of the Nationaltheater Mannheim, where she also was ANGELICA in "Amore", an adaption of Händel's "Orlando"; furthermore, she interpret at the Theater Baden-Baden the part of ZANETTA in Offenbach's  "La Princesse de Trébizonde"; a production in collaboration with the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, the "Berliner Philharmoniker Foundation", the "Akademie Musiktheater heute" and the "Deutsche Bank Foundation". 

 

Next to opera, she loves to perform Oratorio and Art Songs. Her repertoire includes works by among others Mozart, Wolf, Schubert, Schumann or R. Strauss;  her oratorio-repertoire, which she has sang with orchestras such as  the Baden-Badener Philharmoniker, Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester, Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock or Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen includes Mozart's "Große Messe in c-moll" and his "Exultate Jubilate", Bach's "Weihnachtsoratorium", Brahm's "Ein Deutsches Requiem" or the "Magnificat" by C. Ph. E. Bach. 


Amelie Petrich had the pleasure to work with conductors and stage directors such as Klaus Arp, Jan Bammes Golo Berg, Fabrice Bollon, Lukasz Borowicz, Daniel Carter, Aletta Collins, Stanley Dotts, Dan Ettinger, Anthony Hermus, Ingo Kerkhof, Tilman Knabe, Judith Kubitz, Florian Ludwig, Gerhard Markson, Ola Rudner or Alexander Schullin.


She was a  Finalist at the Richard-Strauss-Competition München 2018, and received scholarships  of the Rotary-Club Mannheim, the Richard-Wagner-Foundation and the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Foundation.
